Iam looking at buying a 2013 Ford Explorer Sport with 61k miles. It seems to be in good shape but I was wondering what kind of reliability these SUVs are known for. I am coming from a 13 focus and don't want to get another dud with transmission issues. Any tips or info regarding issues on this model and year of explorers would be greatly
Thenewer Ford Focus models are notorious for their bad transmissions. I drive a 2015 model SE (automatic) and I have put 12,000 miles on it since early May. I have problems with stuttering in low gears and unresponsive acceleration in higher gears. I have missed a gear once, and it likes to rev and clunk gears into place when it really shouldn't.

I'll tell ya, with all these mods, this car is just crazy powerful for what it is. Few guys over at the Focus Fanatic fourms are
2012 is the complete redesign. The DCT has its issues but not every car had a bad DCT, many of us had no issues. It made the Car&Driver 10-best in 2012 & 2013. If its not clunky/noisy while driving it will most likely be perfectly fine. clunky at low speed. Ford extended he warranty to 100K miles on the DCT.
